Mandatory School Uniforms

Mandatory School Uniform Policy Requires:
(Pre-K through Grade 5)
  • Uniform shirt with district emblem and Khaki pants. (for girls: pants, skirt, skort or jumper)
  • Khaki long walking shorts for warm weather

(Grade 6 through Grade 12)
  • Uniform shirt with district emblem and Khaki pants. (for girls: pants, skirt, skort or jumper)
  • Dark blue fleece with district emblem
  • Khaki long walking shorts for warm weather
  • Optional: Dark blue sweatshirt with district emblem

(All Grades)
  • Foot Apparel: Rubber-soled, closed shoe
  • Jeans are not permitted

Why a Mandatory School Uniform Policy?
Research has shown that school uniforms assist in controlling the environment in public schools, help to facilitate and maintain an effective learning environment and keep the focus of the classroom on learning.

School Uniforms:
  • Improve and expand academic excellence
  • Positively influence a school’s image in the community and motivate school spirit
  • Increase school safety
  • Instill a sense of pride and discipline among students
  • Positively affect classroom discipline
  • Decrease morning stress in decision making about what to wear
  • Are cost-effective - save families money
  • Reduce distractions for students and reduce peer pressure
  • Encourage discipline and respect for self

Compliance Measures
1st Offense: Parental/Guardian Notification Phone Call made by the parent liaison.

2nd Offense: Parental/Guardian Notification Letter from the building principal. The letter must be signed and returned the following day.

3rd Offense: Parental/Guardian Conference. The parent/guardian will be required to attend a conference with the building principal.

4th Offense: Students in non-compliance will be placed in a tutoring room, grades Pre-K through 5 until the notified parent brings the appropriate uniform to school.

Exclusions from school-sponsored activities will be implemented ONLY when positive measures have been exhausted.
