Grades 1 and 2 Union City Teachers and Academic Coaches participated in a “Wilson Language Learning” training session to support the literacy work occurring within their classrooms. Wilson is a scientifically research-based literacy program that serves as foundational prevention to help reduce reading and spelling difficulties.

Please be advised of this very important announcement benefitting the Union City School District. The Federal EPA Grant will allow for the purchase of electric school buses and charging stations. Specifically, Union City will receive six, 24 electric passenger buses and six, 54 passenger buses with charging stations.

On Wednesday February 21, 2024, the Union City Schools & the American Dream Pipeline mentoring program sponsored by the New Jersey Hispanic Bar Association hosted New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice Michael Noriega, a longtime resident of Union City.

Congratulations to the Union City High School Girls' Swim Team Captain, Zoe Joss! She is a wonderful kid who is a hard worker both in the water and in the classroom. This weekend, she broke the school 100 Butterfly record for the second time with a time of 1:01.92. We are proud of you, Zoe!

The Multi-tiered Systems of Support approach of prevention, intervention, and enrichment for academic and behavioral needs of all students will provide teachers and staff with a process to identify students who need extra support.

Union City Teachers of Grade 6 Mathematics received high-quality professional development aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards focusing on "NJSLA-M strategies and Evidence Statements for working with Ratio, Proportion and the Number System".

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every U.S. President has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.
