Asst. Superintendent John Bennetti PortraitWelcome to the Union City Academic Programs page where student achievement and success are our priority.

The Union City Board of Education values its commitment to provide the highest quality learning experiences for our students. We celebrate the cultural richness and diversity of our community and work endlessly to ensure our curriculum serves the variety of stakeholders within our public schools. We remain vigilant in our mission to ready each and every child for a successful future in post-secondary environments of college and career, to become productive members of society, and to become effective contributors within the 21st Century. To accomplish this goal, we enact a rigorous, comprehensive standards-driven curriculum for grades PK through 12 in which all of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and core curriculum content standards are addressed and integrated. We promote differentiated instruction so that all students’ needs are met. We utilize data-driven decisions and a deep understanding of assessment practices to drive instruction and intervention. We engage our students in inquiry, project-based learning, and technology-rich environments.

Union City Public Schools values a student-centered approach and all curricula, programming, and academic initiatives support that core agenda.
