The magazine’s study said the academy has the second highest public middle school reading proficiency in New Jersey and the ninth best reading proficiency for elementary schools. It was also ranked as the 20th best elementary school for math proficiency. Overall, the magazine wrote that Sara M. Gilmore’s achievements are “well above expectations.”

The magazine’s recognition adds to the school’s long list of awards, including a NCLB Blue Ribbon School Award, a National ESEA District School for 2020, a New Jersey STAR school, a New Jersey Best Practice school, a New Jersey Model School for the Arts and an Art Creates Excellent Students Creative Ticket Award.
