Carlos H. Vallejo

Carlos H. Vallejo, the Union City Board of Education Vice President, joined the Board of Education because of his concern for the quality of children’s education. Mr. Vallejo attended high school and college in Ecuador and is now a Union City resident.

Prior to joining the Union City Board of Education, Mr. Vallejo worked in the private industry. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he believes that one must study and work hard in order to succeed. He also believes that discipline, respect, motivation, and trust are essential characteristics of students’ success in life.

When asked who his hero is, Mr. Vallejo said, “My mother – she inspired me by being a single parent and raising five children. She overcame many obstacles and tried her best in everything that she did.”

When he is not working, Mr. Vallejo enjoys spending time with his family.
